Bryan E. Delius, founder of Delius & McKenzie, PLLC, has been named to the 2021 Super Lawyers list for his work in both Criminal Defense and in Personal Injury. Mr. Delius is the only attorney in the 4th judicial district, which encompasses Sevier, Jefferson, Grainger, and Cocke Counties, to be honored by Super Lawyers for both areas of practice.
What is Super Lawyers?
Super Lawyers is an objective ratings service designed to help people find the best possible lawyer for their specific needs. Attorneys undergo a rigorous vetting process based on 12 different factors affecting their practice, to ensure that selection is limited to the top attorneys in any given practice area and geographical region. Per Super Lawyers:
Lawyers cannot nominate themselves, and must limit their nominations to others who practice in the same state.
Our procedures and database have several safeguards that prevent lawyers from “gaming” the system. For example, we track who nominates whom. This helps us detect any excessive “back-scratch” nominations (lawyers nominating each other) and “block nominations” (where members of the same law firm all cast identical nominations). We also prohibit lawyers from engaging in “campaigning” or solicitation of nominations from other lawyers.
Further, selection one year does not guarantee selection the next year, which means all attorneys – whether they have ever been nominated before or not – undergo the same comprehensive review each year. No more than 5% of all eligible attorneys within any given geographical region and practice will be selected for inclusion in the list.
